This 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine pumps out 480 lb-ft of torque and 260 horsepower. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive configuration is offered.

There are a lot of engines powering the Silverado lineup, an overwhelming number actually and most of them are tied to certain trim levels. The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 that produces 305 lb-ft of torque and 285 horsepower. Chevrolet mates this engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Other engines include a 2.7-liter turbo 4-cylinder, three versions of a 5.3-liter V8,a 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel 6-cylinder.

Ram offers the 1500 in six trim levels. The Ram 1500 also offers an off-roading trim in the form of the Rebel.

Just like the overwhelming number of engine options, there are an overwhelming number of trim levels to choose from when it comes to the Chevrolet Silverado. The base trim is called the Work Truck and it comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple and Android smartphone integration, air conditioning, a rearview camera, a 6-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth. The upper trims add cruise control, tow hooks, a tailgate damper. Navigation, heated/ventilated front seats, and a spray-in bedliner. There are two packages available to outfit the Silverado with safety features as well.
