This engine is enhanced with Ram’s mild-hybrid eTorque technology for better fuel economy and additional torque when the situation calls for. The next engine, a 5.7-liter V8, outfitted with or without the eTorque system, generates 410 lb-ft of torque and 395 horsepower. The last engine is a new addition for the 2020 model year. This 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine pumps out 480 lb-ft of torque and 260 horsepower. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive configuration is offered.

There are a lot of engines powering the Silverado lineup, an overwhelming number actually and most of them are tied to certain trim levels. The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 that produces 305 lb-ft of torque and 285 horsepower. Chevrolet mates this engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Other engines include a 2.7-liter turbo 4-cylinder, three versions of a 5.3-liter V8,a 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel 6-cylinder.

Ram offers the 1500 in six trim levels. The Tradesman starts the lineup off with a 6-speaker sound system, 18-inch steel wheels, a 5-inch touchscreen with the Uconnect infotainment system, second-row in-floor storage compartments, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and keyless entry and ignition. The upper trims add fog lights, Apple and Android smartphone integration, a folding rear seat with 60/40-split folding, aluminum wheels, 8.4- or 12-inch touchscreen, heated/ventilated front seats, larger wheels, a spray-in bedliner, premium leather bucket seats, and a host of driver assistance features. The Ram 1500 also offers an off-roading trim in the form of the Rebel.

Just like the overwhelming number of engine options, there are an overwhelming number of trim levels to choose from when it comes to the Chevrolet Silverado. The base trim is called the Work Truck and it comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple and Android smartphone integration, air conditioning, a rearview camera, a 6-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth. The upper trims add cruise control, tow hooks, a tailgate damper. Navigation, heated/ventilated front seats, and a spray-in bedliner. There are two packages available to outfit the Silverado with safety features as well.
